Celebrating a Year in Fandom

The Mockingjay rose again, while Jon Snow [spoiler alert] fell in quite the dramatic fashion. We explored post-apocalyptic Boston, said goodbye to Nintendo’s Iwata, and welcomed in the Age of Ultron. Across video games, TV, movies, and books, the collective “we” looked back on all the buzziest pop culture moments of 2015 and got help from YOU to select the most impactful one.

You came in mass; fandom has spoken. The biggest pop culture moment of 2015 is… the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Taking place 30 years after Return of the Jedi, Episode VII of the big screen franchise breathes new life into the Star Wars saga. Along with the next generation of heroes that are introduced, familiar faces have returned to “awaken” the fan in all of us. Chewie, we really are home.

Relive all your fan-favorite moments now. Check out the Year in Fandom.

Vote on your other favorites of the year, from best game to most fashionable cast, in our Fan Choice Awards here.
