It looks like we might get a proper first look at BioWare’s upcoming new IP, currently codenamed Project Dylan, at E3. That’s according to a cheeky tweet from BioWare itself too.

Aaryn Flynn, General Manager at BioWare Edmonton just tweeted the following teaser, featuring Bob Dylan himself.

Although the tweet is pretty mysterious for anyone not familiar with Project Dylan, it didn’t take long for fans to catch on to what he’s referencing.

What’s interesting is that he tweeted that just days before the EA press conference at its special E3 event, EA Play. That can’t be a coincidence.

The last official info we were given about Project Dylan came during EA’s earning call in May, when EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed the game was delayed until at least April 2018.

“We’re very pleased with the progress of our new action IP from BioWare,” said Wilson. “The design is stunning. Gameplay mechanics are excellent, and the action will be exhilarating. The game is built around a live service, and through our creative process, we decided to add more to the disruptive new social design for our players. To accommodate that, we are moving the launch date for this project into fiscal year ’19.”

This will be the first new IP (or intellectual property) from BioWare since 2009 when it launched Dragon Age with Dragon Age: Origins.

“In 2012, we began crafting a new universe full of new characters, stories and gameplay,” said Flynn in a blog post earlier this year. “Our ambition is simple: draw upon 20+ years of development knowledge and lessons to create something fun and new for you to enjoy with your friends. There’s nothing quite as exciting as building a new IP from scratch, and it will be even more thrilling for us to share more with you in the future.”

Apparently, the game’s codename (which may also be its final title) is related to its protagonist, or so says tipster Liam ‘Unseen 64’ Robertson on his latest Patreon podcast.

Dylan is, from what I understand, a sci-fi themed game, it is sort of Destiny-style, takes some elements from The Division, it has MMO elements. Someone described it as a ‘semi-MMO’,” said Robertson as reported by IBTimes.

“I don’t know much more than that… it is a huge scale project, perhaps the biggest BioWare has ever done. It’s bigger than Mass Effect Andromeda, considerably so. It will have co-op.”
