You Need To See These Moments from the 2017 Billboard Music Awards

It’s Monday, and we all need a good distraction. Luckily, the Billboard Music Awards aired last night, and a lot happened. Drake won Top Artist of the year, but the entire award show was mostly owned by K-pop sensation BTS, whose popularity almost shut down both the red carpet and the T-Mobile Arena when the band decided to get out of the car and go to their seats. The show did go on, and while moments were slightly overshadowed by the world’s Top Social Artist, there’s a lot to talk about which has nothing to do with K-pop. We rounded up the best moments of the evening to save you a little time catching up.

Drake performed inside the Bellagio fountain, because that’s what you do when you’re Drake.

As cool as it was, he’s not the first to do it. We remember when Britney Spears did it in back in 2001.

Fans heard there would be a tribute to the late rock legend Chris Cornell from Imagine Dragons.

Imagine Dragons didn’t perform a tribute to Chris Cornell, but instead gave the world a few emotional words and a much needed collective moment of silence. Holding back tears through a cracking voice, Dan Reynolds spoke lovingly of the late great rock legend. Dan’s crying, you’re crying, we’re crying, we’re all still crying, but for one moment we all cried together during the Billboard Music Awards.

Cher wore pink pasties and made us all want to be 71 years old by revealing she can do a five-minute plank.

Everyone remembered why we all love Cher, and BTS danced in their seats.

Celine Dion wore a dress resembling the actual iceberg which sank the Titanic. She also gave a beautiful performance of the Titanic theme song. ‘Titanic’ will be 20 years old this December, but our love for Celine’s iceberg dress is eternal.

Celine Dion was also spotted singing along with Cher during her performance, which may actually be the best backstage moment of all time.

Nicki Minaj opened the show performing a medley of her greatest hits, wearing a latex suit that would make Catwoman envious. Appropriately, Lil Wayne joined her on stage to perform new hit, “Light Up My Body.”

BTS danced.

The Chainsmokers also performed. BTS stood up and danced.

Everyone is saying Nicki Minaj threw shade at Miley Cyrus.

Was Nicki giving Miley side eye at the Billboard Music Awards, or just cheering her on? We’re not really sure, but it’s a look we won’t forget anytime soon. Between Drake’s Bellagio fountain performance, the tribute to Chris Cornell, and BTS, we want to know what you think of everything that happened. Let us know what you think @getfandom.
