This is one lunch that we’d like to be invited to! On Wednesday, Robert Downey Jr. tweeted a shot of himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, and Benedict Wong on the set of Avengers: Infinity War.

“Forks, tongs, cans + bottles + a Wong… Help us #healthenet #afeastoffriends #AvengersInfinityWar #beardbros #sciencebros #benedictsquared,” Downey Jr. wrote.

You Gotta Love These Guys

The #sciencebros hashtag is a nod to the characters’ backgrounds: Cumberbatch’s Dr. Strange is a neurosurgeon; Downey Jr.’s Iron Man is an inventor; Bruce Banner, the alter-ego of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is a scientist; while Wong plays a librarian with the same surname.

#Benedictsquared is a reference to the two Benedicts, Cumberbatch and Wong.

Fans will have to wait a year to see Avengers: Infinity War, the massive crossover featuring heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, it’s characters will continue to make appearances in upcoming films. Tony Stark/Iron Man will appear in July’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Hulk will go toe-to-toe with Chris Hemworth’s Norse God in November’s Thor: Ragnarok.

Avengers: Infinity War will bring together the Avengers, Dr. Strange (and his sidekick Wong), Spider-Man, and the Guardians of the Galaxy to battle the archvillain Thanos, played by Josh Brolin.

Thanos is a cosmic conquerer bent on collecting the six Infinity Stones, a number of which have been featured in previous MCU films.

Take Note of Their Costumes…

Wednesday’s candid shot showed the heroes in costume. Sharp-eyed fans will note that Downey Jr.’s shirt has a hole in the chest where Iron Man’s arc reactor who be. The reactor was extracted from Tony Stark in Iron Man 3 but seemingly makes a return in Infinity War. Wong’s look is slightly different too; a mustache makes him part of the #beardbros.

Judging by the salad and zero calorie drinks, it looks like these heroes are keeping in fighting form.

Avengers: Infinity War opens on May 4, 2018.
