Today Atari announced that 100 original titles to include Asteroids, Centipede and Missile Command will be released in a single bundle within the next few months. Steam users should expect the release to launch in spring of this year along with online and local multiplayer support. Game stats will also be tracked on the Steam Leaderboards and according to the press release, all of the included titles will be Steam Controller capable and a newly updated User Interface will improve precision and gameplay. This sounds like a lot of fun for old-school Atari fans.

More information regarding all of the titles included in the bundle will become available after PAX South. With the ‘retro gaming’ resurgence at an all-time high, this comes as great news for fans who have been dusting off their old consoles and dishing out cash for old cartriges. There are plenty of great titles out there for the Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800, and we couldn’t be more excited to play them again. Even if you don’t have the new Steam Controller on hand, hopefully the developers at Code Mystics keep those of us using PlayStation and XBOX controllers in mind. Until then though, check out this classic Atari commercial compilation and the Atari Wikia HERE, and get pumped for Atari Vault coming soon.
