This year’s four-way Arrowverse crossover is shaping up to be the greatest one yet. Stephen Amell described the upcoming crossover, Crisis on Earth-X, as feeling like a “four-hour movie“, and will encompass all four Arrowverse shows in a two-night special in November.
“We conceived this year’s crossover to be evocative of the annual Justice League/Justice Society crossovers we grew up with and looked forward to as kids,” Executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg told Deadline.
So far, we know that Crisis on Earth-X will involve the villains of Earth-X attacking Earth-1 during what looks like Iris and Barry’s wedding.
The Nazis of Earth-X
In Earth-X, otherwise known as Earth-10, the Nazis won World War II, and our favorite heroes have turned bad and serve as enforcers of the Nazi regime. The big-name superheroes on Earth-X are part of an evil group called the JLAxis. With Overman, the Nazi version of Superman, leading the group, JLAxis includes Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl.
Like most worlds in the multiverse, this world has its own group of good-guys too, with a lineup including Blackhawks, Black Condor, Doll Man, Firebrand, the Human Bomb, the Ray, Phantom Lady, Manhunter, Plastic Man, and Uncle Sam.
Now, Arrowverse has already introduced Earth-X, but don’t worry if you missed it. You can get a three-minute glimpse of it in this preview for the CW Seed series on one of Earth-10’s heroes, the Ray.
How it Connects to the Arrowverse Crossover
So far, while we know that the crossover is going to involve the evil versions of our Arrowverse heroes Green Arrow, Supergirl, and Flash, it’s up to speculation on how they are going to play a part in the crossover. However, we do have a few ideas.
For one, in the short CW Seed clip, it seemed Ray’s fellow heroes were all defeated. While he may be powerful, we could see Ray jump to Earth-1 and ask the other Arrowverse heroes for help on his Earth. And with four episodes in the crossover, we could see the Nazis wreak havoc on Earth-1, and our heroes take on Overgirl and the other evil counterparts on Earth-X.
So, Who’s Battling Them Nazis?
The poster also gives us some insight into which characters will feature in the crossover.
From the Arrow team, Green Arrow, Wild Dog, Mister Terrific, and Black Canary will return. Firestorm, Heat Wave, Atom, Zari, White Canary, and Vixen will show up from the Legends squad. Flash and Vibe, and strangely enough, Killer Frost will be our players from Team Flash. And (most disappointing) it seems Supergirl will be the only character from her world. Captain Cold also seems to be coming back, as you can see him to the left of Barry Allen’s neck.
However, the poster does show us one character who seems completely new. At the very top, above Supergirl, a mix of Brainiac and Martian Manhunter fights on the side of the heroes. While it seems he could be just an easter egg from the artist, all the other characters in the poster (including Ray), are Arrowverse characters, so it only serves to reason that he’s someone we will see on the show.
The Arrowverse four-part crossover will begin Monday, November 27, with Supergirl and Arrow, and conclude on Tuesday, November 28, with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
