5 Marvel Team-Ups We Want to See in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Avengers: Infinity War has been a massive undertaking for Marvel. From sorting through characters, to picking up plot lines that have stretched between 18 films, Avengers: Infinity War is easily the most ambitious thing Marvel has ever done.

10 years of storytelling are about to come to a head in the film and over 40 characters will be colliding. Whether these characters will be spending only minutes together or entire scenes, FANDOM is excited to see some epic team-ups.

What will Rocket say when he meets Captain America for the first time? Will Groot and Hulk just have amazing non-verbal communication? And what about Iron Man and Star-Lord? Will their egos even be able to fit in the same room together? Whoever ends up together in this film, here are five team-ups we HAVE to see:

The Magicians

The “age of miracles” has truly come, just as Baron von Strucker prophesied in Age of Ultron. With this age of miracles comes Marvel’s magicians, magic wielders like Doctor Strange, Wong, and Scarlet Witch.

Scarlet Witch was the only magic user in the Avengers, and in Infinity War she’ll finally be joined by Strange and Wong. What can she teach them? What can they teach her? Wanda has been alone since the death of her brother, Quicksilver, and we’re very excited to see her find a new family with Strange and Wong.

The Soldiers

Steve, Bucky, and Falcon got to team-up a bit during the events of Captain America: Civil War. There was that iconic shot of the three of them in a tiny VW bug, road-tripping to meet Sharon Carter. Falcon and Bucky even gave Cap the “nod” when Steve and Sharon kissed.

Now that Bucky is all healed up mentally and physically, we’re hoping to see a road trip reunion. Bucky, Cap, and Falcon are also cut out of the same cloth. They are soldiers first, above everything else. They know what it’s like to go to war, more so than most. Hopefully they get some fun scenes together — who knows, perhaps Bucky or Falcon will pick up Cap’s shield at the end of all this.

The Badass Ladies

Gamora, Black Widow and Okoye are the most powerful women in the Marvel Universe. These women have defended their respective teams over many long years. Gamora has traversed the galaxy with the Guardians, Romanoff has supported S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers through many battles and Okoye has defended Wakanda from threats without and within.

These three ladies NEED a scene together. Whether they share a laugh over how long they have been solo lady soldiers or they share a powerful team-up, seeing them together would be powerful. Especially since they all have such different strengths.

The Next Generation

Shuri and Peter Parker are the smartest people in the MCU, outside of Tony Stark. While Peter is holding his own at his technical school in New York City, Shuri is the girl genius of Wakanda. Not only is Shuri responsible for all the cool tech in Wakanda, but she also made Black Panther’s amazing suit.

Peter and Shuri are also both young and full of hope. While Peter experienced the bitter taste of loss last year during the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming he still remains optimistic about fighting crime and taking on bad guys. Shuri shares this optimism and has a desire to help other young people, especially based on the post-credit scene in Black Panther.

Together they bring two genius-level intellects and their combined powers of hope. Seeing them work together and geek out over new tech would be so fun to see in Infinity War.

The Psychotic Siblings

Loki and Nebula are definitely the wild cards of Infinity War. Both of these characters have axes to grind with Thanos. Loki was under Thanos’s control leading up to the Battle of New York in Avengers and Nebula was tortured by Thanos most of her life. Both of these characters also have a lot in common. They both grew up in the shadows of greater siblings. Loki lived in Thor’s shadow for most of his life, and Nebula grew up in Gamora’s shadow.

Both of these characters are also powerful warriors. Where Nebula is skilled in combat, Loki is skilled in magic and mischief. They are both extremely driven and self-serving. Can you imagine if they crossed paths in the film or if their motivations aligned, even for a second? I would not want to be Thanos or the Black Order with Loki and Nebula on my tail.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27, 2018.
